- By Air: the closest airport is the University Park Airport (IATA code SCE), about 5 miles from downtown State College and Penn State campus. Other possible airports are Harrisburg (MDT), Pittsburg (PIT) , Baltimore (BWI), Philadelphia (PHL), Washington (DCA,IAD), New York (JFK,LGA).
- By Bus: Fullington Bus Company, MegaBus and Greyhound offer trips from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York, and Harrisburg. (The Megabus stop for all arrivals and departures is the soutwest corner of the Walmart parking lot located at 1665 N Atherton St.. The departing and arriving address of Fullington Bus Company and Greyhound buses is State College Bus Terminal, 152 N Atherton St.. Taxi will need to be booked by calling. - By Train (not recommended): nearest Amtrak train stations are located in the towns of Altoona, Lewistown, and Huntingdon. There is no train station in State College.
